Rough Cut - Animation

After showing our rough cut to some people in our class they gave us some feedback on what we can do to make it better and what we could change. This is what they said...

What they liked...Loved the frog changing scene, was smooth.
So far looks good and cant wait for the whole thing to be finished.

What they would change...Some of the blue tints need changing or would get rid of.
Dont use titles from premier pro, create paper ones so that it fits in more
Dont understand why the yellow guy turns into a white piece of paper when turning into a frog.

Editing.

As this is a stop-motion animation, we took hundreds of photos. I sped the clips to make it flow as it was really slow as some points, this happened because we took a lot of photos for a small movement of the paper man such as climbing up to the table.
I changed the brightness and the contrast of every single frame. For example for the title, I increased the brightness so the background wouldn't be as dark and it stood out to make the letters moving way more clear. I played around with the colour balance and in most of them i increased the green to give it a different look to the overall animation.
I increased the contrast in some of the shots such as when you see the black convers on the screen, i did this to exaggerate the darkness of the converse.
Even though we filmed the orange paper man climb all the way up to the table and then do the same with the white one, I decided to use cross cutting between the characters to add tention to the animation as the orange paper man is being followed.
I also used match on action often throughout the whole animation to make the animation flow and make it look like a film in a way.
I also sped up the part where he transforms into a white frog as we took too many photos of this action as it was quite difficult to fold a piece of paper lots of times and its hard to keep it where you want to it. i also thought that it would look better to cut to different angles so the audience wouldn't get bored as there isn't much going on on the screen apat from a piece of paper folding itself.
When the converse walk towards the camera i've decided to keep it as a video but just cut a few frames in between to make it jump a little. Then i decided to cut the shot after the screen goes black (caused by the shoe getting too close to the camera)
